rushed to the hospital last night, 1 of them a juvenile. who is expected to survive. another an adult male still in critical condition. they were stabbed near south king road and lead away. police say the area was packed with cars and people leaving the cinco de mayo. celebrations at the time. and encouraging update from that double shooting in san jose that seriously injured 2 police officers on thursday. the department says that the officer that was in critical condition is recovering from a successful surgery. the other officer who was shot has already been released from the hospital. mayor london breed is behind a plan that would allow controlled public drinking. the so called entertainment zone is planned for front street between california and sacramento. the plan is music to the ears of the 3 bars already on the block. >

>nicole>entertainment zones in california were made possible after a bill authored by state senator scott weiner passed last year. there's still some legal tinkering to get through at the city level before it can go forward, but the mayor's office is committed to the idea. climate protesters in ■ richmond took to the sea yesterday on kayaks calling out oil tankers affiliated with the local chevron. refinery. they want the city to cut ties with the oil company and work towards climate justice. we also saw palestinian flags and anti occupation slogans as well. we've reached out to chevron for response, and we're waiting to hear back. mhm. now for a look across the bay on this monday morning and happy work week to all of you beautiful. clear skies and oakland san francisco san jose. so what kind of weather can we expect this week, jess? >

example, oakland over into to san francisco, we're only topping off in this low 60s today with upper 60s lower 70s off into the east bay with a little bit more sunshine. time there it will be a mix of sun and clouds for us today throughout the center of the bay and close to our coastline as well. but down into the santa clara valley, we go blue skies are expected this afternoon with upper 60s in the forecast. and a nice warming trend around the corner, and i mean a nice 1. really, as we head into the next couple days. high pressure ridges its way in and we're suddenly seeing 70s by tomorrow 80s, quickly returning for our daytime highs by wednesday and thursday and if you live in the east bay, there's a good chance we could see 90s in the forecast into our friday setup, luckily, we start to average out as we head into the weekend, but keep that in mind if you do have outdoor activities if you are thinking of doing any sports any hiking any new trails that you want to go check out this warm weather could come as a surprise. so start hydrating now start backing up on that sunscreen. we will continue to keep you updated on this gradual warming trend. luckily, we average out into the 70s >nicole>in tonight. all right. thank you, jess. college students around the bay area

continue to camp and protest on. campuses. they're demanding a ceasefire in the war in gaza and asking their schools to divest from any company. with economic benefit. israel this morning we learned columbia canceled their commencement ceremony that was scheduled for may 15th. following a weeks long protest their nationwide more than 2000. demonstrators have been arrested in recent weeks, and after weeks of on campus protests at northeastern univ. versatility. thousands of graduates and families gathered at boston's fenway park for the 2024. commencement ceremony, one person was just detained for disrupting sunday ceremony. meanwhile, los angeles police cleared the palestine's solidarity and encampment at usc early sunday morning. the university close the the campus and warned protesters of arrests but later said the protest has been shut down peacefully without any arrest.

and here's a look at the aftermath at usc. the school is now replacing its main commencement ceremony with an event at the coliseum later this week. as of now, we're not aware of any plan. disruptions to local commencements. berkeley. ceremony is next weekend. sonoma state is the following weekend and sf state will be the 1 after that. all 3 campuses have active pro palestine encampments. the campus protests around the country come amid negotiations over the weekend to secure a deal for a cease fire in gaza. this is new video in to the newsroom of explosions and rafa as israel's military carried out airstrikes. it comes just hours after israel told palestinians to evacuate parts of the southern in gaza city, some 100,000 people are reported to be heeding that warning. israel said this invasion into rafa is necessary to take down the last significant hamas stronghold. here's ian lee with more

could see above normal temperatures widespread throughout the west coast anywhere from san diego, stretching all the way up into seattle with us right in between. but in the meantime, we're still left with a little bit of clouds in the forecast for us daytime highs today. like i said, sitting mostly in the 60s throughout the bay area will continue to see those clouds sweep in from the north throughout the forecast tonight. into early morning hours tomorrow, and then once we head into our wednesday and thursday forecast we actually start to see just sunny skies all throughout the bay area with no rain in sight. whatsoever. it's going to stay dry for us as we head into this work week forecast high pressure will do that for us so that rain that we saw over the weekend is the last we're going to see for a little bit longer. take a look at this heading into the next 7 days. we will continue to warm up and dry up. no matter whether you live in our inland areas like concord, where we will see the 90s as early as friday. averaging out into the mid 80s low 80s into next week, or all the way over into the bay area closer to san francisco or oakland. for that matter, where we will also see that warming trend 60s, turning in the 70s by tomorrow and then 80s heading into thursday and

having to work harder for less cash, basically 2019 was good 2020. three, you know? the thing that has died is the international tourists, and that's what industry leaders are blaming specifically the asian market. scott back the ceo of san francisco travel. says only about 50% of of the chinese tourists have returned. and traditional he says chinese visitors spend big money in san francisco. pandemic. china was our largest long haul overseas market. over 2 billion 0 a year of spend in our market right now tapped by the governments of the us and governments of china air services capped right now it's 50%. of pre pandemic levels. so we can't get back to the normal what we would call normal baseline visitation because you do not have the seats in the airplanes to make it happen, he says. l a gets a lot more domestic visitors and the domestic visitation has pushed the southern california tourism industry well beyond
